Wow, who knew there were so many Dew addicts out there like me? Because you were so supportive I made a video to give you a peek into my summer of getting off The Dew. Thanks to my fans, friends and family for your support. No more Dew!
Thank you for all the great reactions to my first blog post. I was excited to see people taking notice of somebody else on the blog scene with a new and fresh voice. I thought that was nice.
Also I appreciate you all for embracing my struggle with quitting Mountain Dew. I'm glad I shared that piece of information with you. Shout out to my folks from YAHOO! Ball Don't Lie who came up with this great photo. A friend of mine actually sent it to me and I thought it was funny. Mountain Dew is a very popular drink and it's one of those drinks that is very hard to get off of. Fortunately, I've been doing a pretty good job staying away from it. And my fans can too. You just have to believe! You got to dig deep folks! I thought I'd take the time to shine some light on some of the inspirational comments you guys left for me on my last blog post.
laurachalk: Hi Caron, way to take a brave stand for your health!
Thanks guys. Even though I'm off the Dew now, I did have a moment of weakness this summer. I decided to document it for you for inspiration! For hope! To show you that un-doing the Dew is difficult but really possible. Check it out here on my YouTube channel Oh yeah, and on my last blog post I promised I'd tell you guys about my nickname Tough Juice. Well a couple of years ago, my former coach Eddie Jordan gave me the name. With just my performance in practice and always bringing it at a high level and being able to deal with whatever adversity that was placed in front of me on the basketball court or in life. Eddie was just like "Man, you Tough Juice! I like that Tough Juice." And that's just something that stuck and everyone just took it and ran with it. First Game of the season against Dallas Being in this league for eight years, I still get nervous for the first game of the season because it's always a great opportunity for a new beginning and I thought we came out and did a good job this season. Wining in Dallas with the energy of 20,000 plus fans in AmericanAirlines arena, showed that we can keep our poise and do a great defensive job. I thought it was unbelievable. We held them to 39 percent shooting on their opening night and that is huge. They had all their guys out there and great veteran leadership. Dirk still did a heck of a job. But for us to go in there to Dallas and steal one that meant a lot.
But things like that are expected of us now. I keep telling people that, with us healthy we are a force to be reckoned with. We have to continue to go out there and perform at that level and I feel like we can and we will. Our main thing is to keep guys healthy. Talk to you guys later.
