Here is the latest update on NBA-assigned players in the NBA D-League. As of Thursday, there were currently no players on assignment to the NBA D-League. A total of 29 different players have been assigned at some point this season.

Pape Sy, Utah (Hawks) - Sy was recalled earlier this week after a long stint with the Utah Flash. The 6-7 guard/forward averaged 8.0 points in 23 games with the Flash. Sy's tenure in Utah has to be considered disappointing, as he shot only .424 (56-132) from the field and was a non-factor from three-point range with a .150 (3-20) line. Sy also committed 42 turnovers with only 29 assists in the NBA D-League. He's been inactive for the Hawks in their two games so far this week.

Larry Sanders, Fort Wayne (Bucks) - Sanders had a short time in Fort Wayne, playing in only two games before returning to the Bucks. Sanders helped the Mad Ants to two wins while averaging 10.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks. Since his recall on Saturday, Sanders has been thrown right into the fire with the Bucks, playing 27.0 minutes over Milwaukee's last two games. He grabbed eight rebounds and blocked three shots in Tuesday's win over the Pistons.

Byron Mullens, Tulsa (Thunder) - Mullens was recalled last Friday afternoon before the 66ers returned to action after the All-Star Break. He was in uniform for Friday's game as the Thunder were left shorthanded by their trade with the Celtics, but did not see action. He's averaging 16.7 points and 8.2 rebounds in six games with Tulsa this season and is eligible to be assigned one more time in 2010-11.

GATORADE Call-Up Candidates 2/28

Trey Johnson, Bakersfield Jam - Johnson has returned to the Jam lineup after two ten-day contracts with the Toronto Raptors. He got right back to business with a 29-point game against the Idaho Stampede on Saturday night. Johnson leads the NBA D-League with 25.9 points per game.

Othyus Jeffers, Iowa Energy - Jeffers continues to fill the boxscore and has the Energy poised to take another Eastern Conference title. He closed out February with 23.5 points and 8.4 rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from the field. Jeffers is also third in the league with 2.0 steals per game.

Courtney Sims, Iowa Energy - Sims shined in Los Angeles to earn a second All-Star MVP award and should be the best center option for NBA teams, especially with Chris Johnson now on the Celtics roster. Sims bounced back from a slow January by shooting .613 from the field in February, averaging 19.2 points and 9.3 rebounds. He's recorded a double-double in four of his last six games and should take over the league lead with Jeff Adrien off to the NBA.

Orien Greene, Utah Flash - Back in Utah after a call-up to the Nets, Greene should be on NBA team's lists again as he's having a fine season in the NBA D-League. He's second in the league with 2.1 steals per game and got back into form with 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in Sunday's win over Reno.

DeShawn Sims, Maine Red Claws - The Red Claws continue to struggle but Sims had another productive month with 19.5 points and 7.6 rebounds in February.

Joe Alexander, Texas Legends - Alexander was held to single-digit scoring for only the fourth time this season when he scored nine points against Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday. He bounced back with some better games over the weekend but helping the Legends put some more wins on the ledger would help his cause. Texas went 3-8 in February despite 19.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game from Alexander.

Ivan Johnson,Erie BayHawks - Johnson might be a tweener at the forward spots in the NBA, but he's been the NBA D-League's most efficient scorer over the past two months. He looks to be a lock for Player of the Month after scoring 24.5 points on .612 shooting with 7.5 rebounds in February. He's topped 30 or more points in five of his last 15 games.

Curtis Stinson, Iowa Energy - Stinson is making his case as the league's best point guard with some huge games over the last few weeks. He averaged 17.0 points and 10.4 assists for the month of February. Stinson has cut down on his turnovers as of late, but is still not a threat from long-range with a 1-17 mark from three-point land in 2010-11.

Jermareo Davidson, Idaho Stampede - Davidson has been a force on the boards lately, averaging 16.0 points and 13.2 rebounds over the last four games. He also ranks tenth in the league with 1.5 blocks per game.

Patrick Ewing Jr, Sioux Falls Skyforce - Ewing is making the best of his move to the Skyforce, averaging 18.7 points and 11.3 rebounds since being traded to Sioux Falls. He had one of the best individual performances of the season on Sunday with 37 points and 18 rebounds (both season highs) against the Tulsa 66ers.

Assignment Report: 2/24

By Matthew Brennan • February 24, 2011 • 4:32 PM

Here is the latest update on NBA-assigned players in the NBA D-League. As of Thursday, there were only three players currently on assignment after a few recalls earlier in the week. Milwaukee's Larry Sanders became the 10th first-round pick in the 2010 Draft to head to the NBA D-League when he was assigned to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Monday.

Larry Sanders, Fort Wayne (Bucks) - Sanders became the first player assigned to Fort Wayne this season on Monday, and he helped the Mad Ants to a victory in his debut against the Springfield Armor on Wednesday night. Sanders started the game and recorded 15 points and 14 assists while also picking up two blocked shots. The 6-11 F/C is known as a good defender and shot-blocker, but he should also get his fair share of offensive opportunities on a Fort Wayne team that has been looking for production from the center spot since Chris Hunter suffered a season-ending injury in late December.

James Anderson, Austin (Spurs) - The Spurs' first-round pick in June was recalled on Tuesday for the second time this season, meaning the Spurs are permitted to assign him one more time in 2010-11. He struggled in Monday's loss to Texas, shooting 4-13 from the field and turning the ball over seven times. Overall he's averaging 14.7 points and 4.9 rebounds for the Toros, who are 3-4 while he's in the lineup. Anderson was active for the Spurs on Wednesday against the Thunder, but did not see any playing time.

Armon Johnson, Idaho (Trail Blazers) - Johnson was recalled by the Trail Blazers this week after a productive stint with the Idaho Stampede. He didn't have any problems getting to the basket in the NBA D-League, averaging 18.2 points on .597 (71-119) shooting despite connectin on just 3-11 from three-point range. The second round pick played briefly for the Trail Blazers against the Lakers on Wednesday and scored on his only shot attempt of the game.

Willie Warren, Bakersfield (Clippers) - Warren provided plenty of offense off the bench for Bakersfield in a six-game stint before he was recalled at the All-Star break. The former Oklahoma star averaged 21.0 points and 7.0 assists in six games, helping the Jam go 5-1 during his time in the lineup. He was especially effective from long-range, making .464 (13-28) of his attempts from three-point range. Now back with the Clippers, he played briefly against Oklahoma City on Tuesday and New Orleans on Wednesday but is eligible for two more assignments to the Jam this season.

Byron Mullens, Tulsa (Thunder) - Mullrens remains on assignment with a Tulsa team that hasn't played a game since February 16. He'll return to action on Thursday after averaging 16.7 points and 8.2 rebounds in his first five games with Tulsa.

Pape Sy, Utah (Hawks) - Sy fell out of the starting lineup after shooting 2-15 in his first three games in February. Since then, he's been mildly effective as a reserve, averaging 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in his last four games with the Flash.

By Matthew Brennan • February 14, 2011 • 4:13 PM

Jeff Adrien, Rio Grande Valley Vipers - Adrien had a poor shootng week by his standards (20-40 over three games) but still averaged 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds. The NBA D-League's only double-figure rebounder (11.1 per game) will take part in Saturday's All-Star Game. A total of 12 players who took part in last year's game went on to earn GATORADE Call-Ups.

Othyus Jeffers, Iowa Energy - Jeffers returned from missing two games with an injury and had an excellent weekend as Iowa swept Dakota. He set season highs with 34 points and three three-pointers in Friday's win.

Derrick Byars, Bakersfield Jam - Byars had a solid weekend as the Jam extended their winning streak to four games. He's connected on 14 of his last 29 attempts from three-point range and is averaging 22.0 points since being inserted into the starting lineup in mid-January.

Joe Alexander, Texas Legends - Alexander has been held to single-digits in rebounding in six of his last nine games. He's dropped all the way to sixth overall in the league with 9.5 boards after leading for much of the season but will be looking for a big performance in Saturday's All-Star Game.

Antonio Daniels, Texas Legends - Daniels had another solid all-around week despite two losses for the Legends. He ranks third in the NBA D-League with 8.2 assists.

Blake Ahearn, Erie BayHawks - No stranger to GATORADE Call-Ups in his career, Ahearn started slowly after joining Erie in December but he's starting to heat up. The veteran guard is averaging 25.0 points and 6.0 assists in February while shooting .412 (14-34) from three-point range.

Courtney Sims, Iowa Energy - Sims will be sorry that Dakota is no longer on the schedule after he finished the season series 8-0 against the Wizards with 20.4 points and 10.0 rebounds on .747 (59-79) shooting. He'll play in his second career All-Star Game on Saturday after earning Co-MVP honors in 2009

Ivan Johnson,Erie BayHawks - The veteran forward has helped spark Erie to an eight-game winning streak. He's averaging 25.8 points and 7.8 rebounds over that stretch.

Jermareo Davidson, Idaho Stampede - The former Warriors call-up scored a season-high 27 points against Sioux Falls on Friday. He's currently fourth in the league with 9.6 rebounds per game.

Patrick Ewing Jr, Sioux Falls Skyforce - Ewing had a slow start as he adjusted to his new team in Sioux Falls, but he's racked up four straight double-doubles including a season-high 29 points and 16 rebounds on Friday. He'll represent the Skyforce in his first career NBA D-League All-Star Game on Saturday.

By Matthew Brennan • February 10, 2011 • 1:28 PM

Let's take a look at recent developments regarding NBA-assigned players on NBA D-League teams. As of Thursday, seven players were currently on assignment after a handful were recalled earlier in the week.

James Anderson, Austin (Spurs) - Anderson returns to Austin this week after a two-game cameo with the Toros last weekend. He'll be back in action Thursday when the Toros face the Vipers. He is averaging 14.5 points after his first two games in the NBA D-League while shooting .556 (10-18) from the field.

Byron Mullens, Tulsa (Thunder) - Mullens returned to the 66ers for a second time this season last Thursday. The second-year center continued to experience success on the NBA D-League level, posting 19.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in two weekend games for Tulsa.

Willie Warren, Bakersfield (Clippers) - Warren became the first Clippers player ever assigned to the NBA D-League last week, and he helped the Jam sweep the Springfield Armor in dominant fashion. The rookie guard had a very productive debut on assignment, scoring 23.0 points with 5.5 boards and 7.5 assists over his first two games for the Jam.

Armon Johnson, Idaho (Trail Blazers) - Johnson's tenure with Idaho has now stretched to five games. The former Nevada guard is posting 15.6 points and 5.4 rebounds off the bench for the Stampede. He's having little trouble getting to the basket on NBA D-League defenses with a stellar .642 (34-53) shooting percentage.

James Johnson, Iowa (Bulls) - A first-round pick in 2009, Johnson became the first Bulls player to head to Iowa in a while, and he's emerged as a key component of their already deep rotation. Johnson has started all six games while he's been a part of Iowa and is filling the boxscore with 19.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. He started the month of February with three straight double-doubles for the Energy.

Dexter Pittman, Sioux Falls (Heat) - The only assigned player named to the NBA D-League All-Star team, Pittman continues to toil for a struggling Skyforce team while his NBA teammates rack up the victories in Miami. The center from Texas has now reached 20 games (all starts) with the Skyforce with a stat line of 15.0 points and 8.3 rebounds. He currently ranks sixth in the league with 1.8 blocks per game.

Pape Sy, Utah (Hawks) - Now into his second month with the Flash, Sy had his moments towards the end of January but has struggled to make an impact over his last few games. Despite starting for Utah, he's only 2-15 with just four total assists over his last three games. Over the duration of his assignment, Sy is averaging 8.0 points on .387 (41-106) shooting in 17 NBA D-League games.

Avery Bradley, Maine (Celtics) - The injury to Marquis Daniels resulted in a need for Bradley back in Boston and he was recalled on Monday. The Red Claws only went 2-7 during Bradley's assignment while he posted 17.5 points. He got his name into the NBA D-League record books by tying a single-game record with nine steals in a win over Tulsa on January 30. He'll be looking for his first NBA action since January 12 when the Celtics face the Lakers on Thursday.

Ish Smith, Rio Grande Valley (Rockets) - The rookie guard was recalled from the Vipers for a second time on Monday. Smith closed out his second assignment with 13 assists in a win over New Mexico on Saturday, and then went back to the NBA and dished out six against the Nuggets on Monday. He's averaging 12.5 points and 7.9 assists in eigth games with the Vipers this season.

Craig Brackins, Springfield (76ers) - Brackins ended his second assignment to the Armor after a 21-point, 16-rebound outing against Bakersfield on Saturday. Brackins has not been hesitant to shoot the ball with the Armor, throwing up 17.7 shots per game despite shooting just .427 (106-248) from the field. Over 14 games he's averaging 19.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per contest in the NBA D-League, and will be looking for his first action with the 76ers since December 27.

Jeremy Lin, Reno (Warriors) - Lin was recalled from Reno on Saturday and played briefly agains the Nuggets on Wednesday night, his first action with Golden State since December. He's been very effective in Reno, averging 17.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 16 games over two separate assignments.

Hamady N'diaye, Dakota (Wizards) - The rookie center was recalled by Washington after averaging 4.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks in 11 games. He has not appeared in a game for Washington since December 16.

Cole Aldrich, Tulsa (Thunder) - Aldrich was recalled last week after playing a big part in Tulsa's 14-game winning streak.
