Bird recaps NBA Nation's Denver Stop
Chirp, Chirp, It’s the Birdy Birdy Man back in Minnesnowta.
First and foremost, THANKS to all the fans in Denver who came out and supported NBA Nation presented by T-Mobile & Kia Motors. I had a great time and I hope you all did as well. Hope the Nuggets do even better next year when they get coach Karl back and hopefully keep all those players together!
Silky Smooth, Superman, Young Money and the rest of the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown contestants put on a serious show. Silky Smooth came out with the very small victory over Superman, I gotta remember to text in my vote next time! Without a doubt Young Money had the best dunk of the contest though. Did he seriously ally oop to himself off the library? Nasty!
I really wanna see some times posted in the Kia Performance Challenge when we’re in LA. Everybody NEEDS to practice! Seriously, don’t you know you could win a sick ride? I tried it for the very first time and threw up a time of 20.6 seconds, come out and see if you can beat that! You gotta hit that bounce pass and free throw, it’s the key. Congrats to Xavier who put up a lightning quick time of 17.1 seconds. Ty Lawson came out to the Kia Performance Court on both show days as well. He’s a really down to earth nice guy, we were glad to have him there both days and I hope ya’ll got to meet him!
I would like to make a very special shout out to all those youngsters in Denver who beat up on Puff and Mike-G on the T-Mobile Court. Credit to Bri Guy and Andy for winning the shooting contest on the 8 foot hoop, but I won ALL the comps on the big courts including a certain jalapeno eating contest, haha. NBA Nation Crew better step up its game if it wants to beat me!
Also, special thanks to Craig Robinson aka Darryl from "The Office" (absolutely hilarious up in the T-Mobile VIP Skydeck), Laurie (thanks for the $10 and the daylong stomach ache), Puff, Armando and all our local workers for all your help, and of course to Papa Burns.
THANKS AGAIN DENVER!

Andy Acosta Recaps Denver
So you think you want to be part of the NBA Nation road crew huh? Well let me give you a brief description of the last 5 days in my life:
Friday - event setup from 8pm - 5am in 40 degree weather. Denver Diner tasted delicious at 5am. The Sheraton downtown Denver offered me a fabulous bed to get a solid one and half hours of sleep.
Saturday - lobby call at 7:30am. My feet hurt and I have an unusual amount of eye boogers. 10am, its time to put my game face on. Interacting with NBA Ambassador Darryl Dawkins, the Nuggets Dancers, Rocky the mascot and Ty Lawson on the Kia Performance Court is the reason I love my job. Giving the fans of NBA Nation this opportunity is awesome. 8pm, the show is over. Sleep is on my mind.
Sunday - my feet and back both hurt now. I realize that I am almost 28 years old. I am a man. Another great show day from 10am - 8pm. Tear down followed the event until 1:30am (a 17 hour day when you include arriving on site two hours before we open.)
Monday - fly home. Jamba juice for breakfast, all you can eat sushi for dinner.
Tuesday - office work. My boss informs me that I don't have to work the rest of the week. I'm very happy.
Wednesday - sleep until 11am.
Conclusion: nothing beats being part of the Road Crew. Thanks Denver for playing a great host. Andy Acosta

Live! It's a special guest blogger...PUFF!

Andy "Puff" Westphal Blogs from the Road
Puff daddy here hitting up the readers of the NBA Nation presented by T-Mobile & Kia Motors Road Crew Blog with a very special guest appearance blog. This past weekend in the mountains was one to remember. Setup was crazy as we only had a couple hours of shut-eye before “opening-day,” but Saturday was pretty sweet. The dancers, Ty-dizzle, and Rocky all came out in the afternoon. The times for the Kia Motors Performance Challenge were a little slow (Sorry Denver, but even Papa Burns mighta been able to smash those 1st day times). Ironically enough, Xavier spiced things up with the fastest time in NBA Nation Tour history on Sunday (17.1 seconds!). Kid KILLED it! Good Luck to him in Dallas! I’ll see you there.
For those of you who missed it, the Sprite Slamdunk Showdown on Saturday probably had a top 5 dunk of the entire tour! Young Money had his boy throw an oop off the Public Library Building (disregard this blog Ms. Librarian). Young $$ caught it, and slammed it home for a memorable one.
More importantly, Sunday morning was the opening festivities of Around T-Mobile between emcee Mike-G. and myself. He had a rough morning as I took the victory, but it definitely set the crowd off with what good talent was all about as the top shooters of the Nation Crew were showcased… Yea, you heard me Bird and Acosta. For the lovely mothers that made it out to the NBA Nation Tour on Sunday, I thank you with every ounce of gratitude in my body for the show Denver received later that afternoon. We saw mothers from all around twisting to Chubby Checker, droppin’ it like it’s hot, chirpin’ to the Chicken Dance, and groovin’ to the Electric Slide. We might have to teach my man D some of the modern moves, but he was crushing it out there too. Even Chocolate Thunder tore up the dance contest!
I gotta throw a shout-out to the T-Mobile-“R-cubed”-crew, Jae-Money n’ Sprite, Captain Jac & Emcee Mike-G., Bronx Gestal, Labor boy Nick, the kids of the NBA FIT clinic, and DJ Bedz for crushing it this past weekend and keeping me on my toes! It’s been real, and I can’t wait to see everyone in New York!! Stay tuned for an updated special guest blog hopefully in NY, St. Paul, & Dallas!
Peace Denver

On the Road with Bird in Denver!
Tweet Tweet, what’s going on Denver? Big night tonight, setup starts at 8pm. Not a lot of sleep coming for the crew tonight, but we thrive on it. Much thanks to our friend Armando, his wonderful mother and grandmother for throwing the crew a bbq last night. Nothing better than some home cooked food when you’re out on the road. Got to play some basketball last night too, I always love the chance to throw some dunks down on Andy, Bri Guy, and Tyler.
We’ve had a wonderful time in Denver this week, thanks to all of our friends from around town for showing us around. Hope you all come out to the NBA Nation presented by T-Mobile & Kia Motors this weekend! It’s going to be a great time and I better see some amazing dunks and great times put up on the Kia Motors Performance Challenge, otherwise I might have to show ya’ll how it’s done. Alright, quick nap then its showtime! See you all tomorrow!
