McGrady and Iverson...All Stars?

If the All Star Break began today, Tracy McGrady would be the starting guard for the Western Conference. In the East, Allen Iverson is currently sixth in the voting among guards despite the fact that he just recently got on the ballot (or even back in the league). Between them they have played 5 games and have 59 total points. Meanwhile, a guy like Gerald Wallace who is having a monster season including leading the league in rebounding as a swingman (that's crazy!) isn't even in the top 20 among guards and forwards in the vote. Does that sound right?

I've heard the arguments in recent years about how the All Star Game is just for the fans so the fans should get to choose the teams, but there has to be a limit.  If the fans are going to vote, there should be a games played limit or a minimum number of total points/rebounds/assists or SOMETHING to prevent ridiculous results. 

I know that the NBA is a superstar-driven league, but if players are going to count All Star appearances as a merit-based credential to pad their resumes then they should at least have to play in one regular season game before starting the All Star game.  I don't think that is asking too much.
