All-Star Musings

The snow slowed things down in Dallas but there were still a lot of people there and it was a great event. It was disappointing losing the Rookie Challenge. We could have won when I was a rookie and we could have won as Sophomores. But we didn't.

I've known a lot of guys in the rookie game, especially from the Sophomore group, from middle school and maybe even elementary school. I've been playing against those guys for a long time up until now, and it's crazy to see us back together again. It just happened that a lot of the guys I knew had the same competitive nature and we just kept playing against each other, and here we are now in the NBA and some of us were at All-Star. Next year we're the hosts in L.A. and hopefully some of us will be in the real game.

It was great seeing Chris [Kaman] on the All-Star team. He's one of my good friends on our team and to see him playing with the West was fun. He's been playing great all season. I was surprised he wasn't picked at first. I know our record wasn't the best, but with his individual stats at center, it was tough not to choose him.

It's been tough for all of us with Coach Dunleavy stepping down. It's a mental thing. We've been a little off lately and we have to get our chemistry back. We'll be fine. I hope the move is for best. We'll just have to see how it goes from here.
