Prospect Watch
Trey Johnson, Bakersfield Jam - Johnson has returned to the Jam lineup after two ten-day contracts with the Toronto Raptors. He got right back to business with a 29-point game against the Idaho Stampede on Saturday night. Johnson leads the NBA D-League with 25.9 points per game. Othyus Jeffers, Iowa Energy - Jeffers continues to fill the boxscore and has the Energy poised to take another Eastern Conference title. He closed out February with 23.5 points and 8.4 rebounds while shooting over 50 percent from the field. Jeffers is also third in the league with 2.0 steals per game. Courtney Sims, Iowa Energy - Sims shined in Los Angeles to earn a second All-Star MVP award and should be the best center option for NBA teams, especially with Chris Johnson now on the Celtics roster. Sims bounced back from a slow January by shooting .613 from the field in February, averaging 19.2 points and 9.3 rebounds. He's recorded a double-double in four of his last six games and should take over the league lead with Jeff Adrien off to the NBA. Orien Greene, Utah Flash - Back in Utah after a call-up to the Nets, Greene should be on NBA team's lists again as he's having a fine season in the NBA D-League. He's second in the league with 2.1 steals per game and got back into form with 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in Sunday's win over Reno. DeShawn Sims, Maine Red Claws - The Red Claws continue to struggle but Sims had another productive month with 19.5 points and 7.6 rebounds in February. Joe Alexander, Texas Legends - Alexander was held to single-digit scoring for only the fourth time this season when he scored nine points against Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday. He bounced back with some better games over the weekend but helping the Legends put some more wins on the ledger would help his cause. Texas went 3-8 in February despite 19.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game from Alexander. Curtis Stinson, Iowa Energy - Stinson is making his case as the league's best point guard with some huge games over the last few weeks. He averaged 17.0 points and 10.4 assists for the month of February. Stinson has cut down on his turnovers as of late, but is still not a threat from long-range with a 1-17 mark from three-point land in 2010-11. Jermareo Davidson, Idaho Stampede - Davidson has been a force on the boards lately, averaging 16.0 points and 13.2 rebounds over the last four games. He also ranks tenth in the league with 1.5 blocks per game. Patrick Ewing Jr, Sioux Falls Skyforce - Ewing is making the best of his move to the Skyforce, averaging 18.7 points and 11.3 rebounds since being traded to Sioux Falls. He had one of the best individual performances of the season on Sunday with 37 points and 18 rebounds (both season highs) against the Tulsa 66ers.
