So you think you want to be part of the NBA Nation road crew huh? Well let me give you a brief description of the last 5 days in my life:
Friday - event setup from 8pm - 5am in 40 degree weather. Denver Diner tasted delicious at 5am. The Sheraton downtown Denver offered me a fabulous bed to get a solid one and half hours of sleep.
Saturday - lobby call at 7:30am. My feet hurt and I have an unusual amount of eye boogers. 10am, its time to put my game face on. Interacting with NBA Ambassador Darryl Dawkins, the Nuggets Dancers, Rocky the mascot and Ty Lawson on the Kia Performance Court is the reason I love my job. Giving the fans of NBA Nation this opportunity is awesome. 8pm, the show is over. Sleep is on my mind.
Sunday - my feet and back both hurt now. I realize that I am almost 28 years old. I am a man. Another great show day from 10am - 8pm. Tear down followed the event until 1:30am (a 17 hour day when you include arriving on site two hours before we open.)
Monday - fly home. Jamba juice for breakfast, all you can eat sushi for dinner.
Tuesday - office work. My boss informs me that I don't have to work the rest of the week. I'm very happy.
Wednesday - sleep until 11am.
Conclusion: nothing beats being part of the Road Crew. Thanks Denver for playing a great host.
